RIP PreSonus FP10

After 3+ years, my main audio card, a PreSonus FP10 has decided to die on me. I have ordered a Focusrite Saffire PRO 40.

So as I do every year, I'm covering the Brookdale Guitar Show in Lincraft New Jersey, (link below) and I needed to upgrade some of my audio equipment as I've got a new camera.

Last year I used a wired mic which is good and works, but the cables do get in the way. That said I JUST ordered a Sennheiser EW135P G3 along with a Pelican 1200 case to store this in. I plan on adding a lapel system to this rig later but for now the handheld mic works well.

For those who are looking to be at the show and want to chat with me, I'll be running around with my Panasonic AG AC90. Brookdale Television should be covering the event as well.

Panasonic AG AC-90 Demo

This video is aweoms because it covers a lot of situations for beauty shots filmed with the new Panasonic AG-AC90 camera. At 2k, this thing is very nice and has a great image quality, even in the lower light situations like the indoor locations I shot the flowers in :)

My take on it all:
This is something I picked up when I went to a guitar center with my cousin. I have been meaning to pick up a dedicated pedal as my Yamaha Magicstomp was not accurate eough. Long story short, this thing has a TON of features and tunes your guitar or bass really fast and accurate. I think it's a great product. I did think my unit was defective after running through 2 9v batteries in 2 days, but turns out the manual says it's still running unless the input cable is unplugged! ....so yea, be sure you unplug that unless you run off of 9v outlet power like I just ordered.
Overall, a great product and much improoved over the TU-2 unit, and I'd highly suggest buying it.

New Camera

So while visiting friends (Trythis0001 and Urgo6667) in Seattle Washington, we had a car broken into and gear stolen. I was out 1 Canon Vixia HF S100 and Heil PR22 UT mic.

So with the loss of my beloved camera, I decided to get a new one, the Panasonic AG AC90.

Sorry, I know I've been out of studio for quite a while due to renovations and other things but now it's back in one piece and I will start producing product reviews again. I also want to start finishing up more software tutorials.

Also I have been considering doing a live photo show based on HDR photograpy. This would be a mix of both out of studio and in studio work where out of studio I show how to shoot each photo and then live in studio on a broadcast, we process the photos in Photomatix.

Finally, I have been meaning to do a production tips series on working with cameras. This type of series would cover how to work with the manual controls of your more advanced camears such as apature, shutter speed, focus, white balance, and more. I will be working with a professional camera such as the Sony Z5U for this series.

Skipping Gear Review

This monday I will not have a Gear Review out, and on top of that, I will only be doing them every other week to cut down on work load at my end. I run 3 channels and want to balance them out some more.

I also have some construction happening so the studio will have to be cleared out for a few days which means no gear review is possible this week either way.

YouTube Puts Tags Into Private Mode

Strangly enough, the official YouTube Creators account tweeted out hours ago that they would be pulling tags from the public as they were abused by some. They also suggest people keep uploading their content.

How will this effect the site and how things are found in searches?
