Equipment Upgrades - The Quad Spot

So yesterday I ordered a used Behringer XENYX X2442USB mixer from Musiciansfriend.com along with some cables to run out from that to my PreSonus FP10.  The current mixer I'm using, (a Yamaha MG10/2) only has a single aux send and no bus groups and so routing was getting impossible for me.  The new mixer will allow me to patch in skype calls along with Google+ hangouts, adjust compressors for every input, and do this all with mix minus feeds so the guests won't hear themselfs on skype or Google+.  These are all new upgrades for my podcast called "The Quad Spot"

Also, I've finished editing Gear Review 23 and had a chance to fire off the ADJ Mega Par Profiles on the back of my house last night and I must say, it looked awesome.  The new gear review series will be airing on the second of June with new episodes every Friday.

Comcast raises it's bandwidth cap to 300GB plus per month

But is it really an actual upgrade?

Comcast has recently announced that that they would be increasing their monthly bandwidth cap from 250GB to 300GB per month.  Well yes this is true however Comcast also says they will charge it's customers $10 for each addition 50GB that they go over.

Personally, I had comcast for a few months and easily wen't over the 250GB per month averaging about 350GB per month with daily Google Hangouts and YouTube uploads for my business however I never had Comcast come back to me and complain, throttle, or charge anything more than my low monthly bill.  Either way, I went back to Verizon as I have Fios fiber in my town.

YouTube now allows most members to become a "Partner"

So some are saying they don't see the application button.  I found it at the video manage tab but also on the upload section of the website so be sure to check there!

Another thing is you have to have at least one video uploaded.  Others rumor that you must have at least one video monitized before you can apply for the YouTube "Partner" program.

So it seems some people are seeing this apply for partnership button however not everyone is and we here at SOS have yet to figure out what that deciding factor is that triggers the button.  When we do figure it out, we will be sure to let you know!
